HOW TO USE
STEP BY STEP GUIDE
  • take out the cap

  • clean the probe 
    first with wet and then with dry tissue

  • switch on device
    every time you switch on device, the calibration is
                                                                                                                   performed, so ensure that the probe is clean and not                                                                                                              inserted into the plant

  • check the settings for “units of weight”
    check other settings for convenient usage

  • choose the product from the list you are going to test

  • only now you can insert the probe
    the insertion depth should be full or above 10mm
    the tip of a probe should be inserted into the homogenous solid mass (flesh)
    the tip should not come out of the plant, or be inserted into seeds, pits, or inner cavities

  • press "Start Test" button
    hold the device still during measurement

  • wait 3 seconds and get a result

LEAFY AND SALAD VEGETABLES, BULB AND STEM VEGETABLES

Leafy and salad vegetables: Asparagus Lettuce, Green Lettuce, Cabbage, Chinese cabbage, Shanghai Green Vegetable, Choy Sum, Pak Choi, Gai-Lan, Cauliflower, Broccoli

Bulb and stem vegetables: Asparagus, Celery, Lotus root, Garlic, Onion, Scallion

To test them, please insert the probe of Greentest right into the center of the head (stem core) of the vegetable and make sure that the pin of the probe is NOT between layers or out of flesh. Please remember that any other insertion around the first one (up to 2 cm) might show incorrect result, as after first insertion the cell membranes might be destroyed, vegetable juice will flow-out into the intercellular space and this will influence on the electric conductivity performance and thus final result. Also there will be a higher risk of getting probe pin into the space of previous hole.

Due to the structure of this type of vegetables, the core of the stem is the only part that will show correct results, though they will indicate the highest nitrate level in the tested vegetable.

ROOT AND TUBEROUS VEGETABLES

Cherry Radish, Turnip, Potato, Purple Potato, Sweet Potato, Taro, Yam Rhizome, Ginger, Carrot

This type of vegetables can be tested from any side, but we suggest inserting the probe into the core of the stem. Root and bulb vegetables are crispy and brittle, and when the probe is inserted laterally, a crack might occur ahead of the pin and create the space around. Please, carefully insert the probe and ensure that it is plugged tightly.
